Rimmel: Glam Eyes Lash Flirt

Today I'll be reviewing Rimmel's Glam Eyes Lash Flirt in Kohl Black.

 

Okay so let's start with what the product claims to do. "2x blacker pigments; up to 80% longer lashes." From the back, "Air whipped formula glides through lashes wrapping them softly with intense carbon black pigments for a fluttering lash look. Volumflex brush gently fans each lash up and out for sensational lift & length."

That's a mouthful huh? So basically what this means is that this mascara is suppose to give you longer, fuller and darker lashes.

 

As you can see the wand is long and skinny, the bristles are made out of what seems to be a plastic. It's separated in two sections; a row of longer bristles in bunches of three and then a row of shorter thicker bristles, singled and separated in rows of three. The wand is very flexible.

The formula is like a thin gel and is intensely black.

Does it do all that they claim? Yes and no. The formula is very thin and I found that I had to build the formula up, 3 or more coats. My lashes were longer however they were separated to the point that they look sparse...not so much voluminous.  Pictures? Ofcourse:

To me my lashes look fuller before hand and they clump together afterwards. Does this mean the mascara is a bust? Well not necessarily just means you have to do a second step. You know those two sided eyebrow brushes, the one that comes with a comb on one side and a brush on the other. If you run the comb through your lashes it'll separated them a bit.

As far as my recommendations go I would not think this would be for someone who has thin lashes. I think it would make them seem even more thinner. However if you have thick lashes this might work for you. If you wear fake lashes this again would be a good mascara for you because this will not weigh them down. If you have light colored lashes and want black lashes to give you that flirty glamorous look and make your eyes pop more...this is your ticket. Those with straight lashes that manually curl your lashes this could go either way for you as it doesn't curl your lashes but is suppose to lengthen them and lift them, so if you find that after you've curled you lashes they look a bit short give this a try.

This mascara is available in almost any drugstore and costs around $8. I hope this helps and good luck.
